There are alot of creature mods out there, and I know most of them (I think...), but I want YOUR opinions. I know I don't want Ecology of morrowind or whatever, because it makes alot of creature ignore and not attack you (so I've heard). I'll probably get "where are all the birds going" in addition to whatever.
Also, if I don't like a creature, can I use to find and replace tool to remove it from leveling lists? |

It has all kinds of new creatures, new items, and more. All the creatures are levelled, so it's very well balanced. Very cool mod. QUOTE(Eragon9992004 @ Apr 5 2005, 07:24 PM) G I A N T S Ultimate, it's AWSOME, get it Here. It has all kinds of new creatures, new items, and more. All the creatures are levelled, so it's very well balanced. Very cool mod. Just a few words of caution about Giants. It is well known as being hard to install, and is rather hard to get rid of for most people. While it does add an awesome amount of creatures in leveled lists, it also tends to wind up messing with other mods. Just make sure that you check it out beforehand and make sure you really want it. -------------------- I find it amazing that users that have joined only a few days ago can have more posts than me. Hmmm... I wonder why?
I am the death of threads. Seriously, look at some of my past posts. Many times after I post, a once-busy thread will never get another post. Is that a bad thing? |

Ok, I'll check it out. I might not get it since I might not like it and want to remove it. I was wondering, can anyone give me their thoughts on Water life version 'whatever it is'? And any other mod that adds creatures to land? Mainly land. And no undead (or few)

I like Giants. I have run the mod pretty consistently for at least the past year and a half and have enjoyed it immensely (once PM released the mod in .esm form and doubling Pack Nix-hounds went away). A few of the creatures, such as the infamous Night Sprites, look kind of amateurish and this has bothered some players but I just look the other way. Puma Man evidently has some kind of affection for these things and, besides, nothing is perfect. I just made myself a quickie mod taking them out, along with that one PackNixHound near Seyda Neen. That has no business being near a starting town, IMO.
Neither am I bothered by Giants Spriggans looking different than Bethsoft Spriggans [this was an issue raised in another thread] because it is not unusual in nature to see varieties. In fact you could argue, if you cared to, that all Spriggans looking uniformly, exactly alike in every detail could be considered a tad unrealistic. But there are also creatures in Giants that I think are gorgeously done. The Luminous Ghost, for example, is one of the most eerily beautiful creatures I have seen in the game, by Bethesda or anyone else. And I think the most hair-raising sight I have ever witnessed on Vvardenfell has been of a Giant's Dragon far off in the distance, careening malevolently over burnt-out trees and spitting fire. I also think Ultimate's new Spiders look very nice. And the Dwemer Spiker is indistinguishable, IMO, from Beth's Dwemer mechs. Giants Ultimate inserts creatures into the game world with much more restraint than past versions have done. I am seeing many more of the original creatures than I did when I ran 2.0. No longer can it be considered a mere 'creature dump'. And there is one aspect of Giants I would not want to do without: nocturnal creatures. Occasionally I play with a creature mod other than Giants and whenever I do I invariably miss all those Giants creatures that only come out at night. Night-time has a specially spooky ominous feel with Giants. With other creature mods night-time is just a darker version of day-time. Another mod you may want to consider is Mephisto's 'Creature Pack'. This creates many new creature varieties out of the stock MW creatures. They range from non-aggressive all the way up to level 200+. Plus, because it uses no new art, it is a very small download and is very easy install. -------------------- |

GIANTS is hard to remove or install? Since when? My experience with GIANTS is as follows:
1) Unzipped the handy installation EXE. 2) Installed the handy installation EXE. 3) Played GIANTS. Unstalling it was pretty much the same thing: 1) Save my game in a safe area with no references of any content added by GIANTS. 2) Used the handy uninstallation EXE. 3) Loaded my game, saved it for precautions. 4) Played without GIANTS. Don't listen to all the hot air surrounding GIANTS. Aside from the aforementioned Pack Nix-Hounds (I made a really simple mod to make them weaker) and the Night Sprites, it's of really fine quality. I always use it, it's an excellent addition to anyone's game. When you start to encounter Titans, you'll see why. I swear, fighting Sea Titans using my ship's Cannon (ala MadMax's Fishing Academy) makes for the most memorable Morrowind moments. -------------------- Clinging to the Forum Scholar's Guild

Giants is not for everyone. It is an awesome amount of work, but I think that there are several problems. My preference is Mephisto's Creature pack 1.1 It adds variety without breaking the game.

I like Giants - especially when combined with Wilderness mod and Wilderness Sounds - all available from Pumaman. He also has a creature remover so you can get rid of the ones from Giants that you don't want as well as an explanation for how to modify that (which I don't understand, by the way) to use with The Wildnerness Mod.
I would caution against using any other mod that adds creatures to Morrowind if you do use these. They are meant to be run as 'instead of' not 'in addition to'. -------------------- Lady Rae: Matron Mother of Madness

Could you give me some screen shots of the creatures? About that mod that adds varieties of creatures, well the piont of getting a creatures mod was to add creatures.
And again, anyone have any veiws on Abot's mod? OH!, or piratelord's mod! And once again... can anyone tell me if you have to delete creatures from LEVELING LISTS to destory them forever? And has anyone got that bird mod a mentioned? |

I haven't add the chance to really see Abot's Water Wildlife mod to the extent of whales and sharks (I've only been to rivers with my current character and seen clownfish), but it's a very excellent idea. The scripting involved means it runs better and more compatible with other creature mods. I'd recommend it.
His "Where have all the Birds gone?" mod is superb. I have played with it enough to experience it, and it's an excellent addition. EDIT: The Wilderness mod adds lots of domestic "creatures" like Dogs, cats, pigs, horses, ducks, chickens, and such, mainly to towns. But some show up in the Wilderness, of course. There are some other, more mythical creatures, but the most noticable ones are the domestic wildlife in towns. The only problem I have with it is the buildings it adds, like Grain silos and such. I run both of Abot's mods and GIANTs, so I kinda stay away from Wildlife. Another thing about Wildlife, it REALLY expands the underwater experience. If it weren't for Abot's Waterlife mod, I might still use Wildlife. Other than that, I really liked the huge variety of creatures, and the sheer amount of them, that could be found in the water. It adds a ton of creatures to the outside areas of Morrowind. Deer, rabbits, dogs, cats, tigers, jaguars, all kinds of creatures on land, in the air and in the water. It also uses leveled lists for all the creatures so that the outside is constantly changing. They also have something called Pet Security which - I believe - will prevent you from just going around and killing the pets of the NPCs, but I've not really tried that aspect of things.

If I can figure it out, I might try to extract my favorites from the mods and make my own mod.

I've been using Creature pack 1.1,Morrowind advanced, and Morrowind comes alive 4.1 {this incorporates the undead2.2) simultaneously for a few games now. To be honest I'm not sure which mod is generating what creature but I've been encountering quite a variety of monsters in my travels...all attuned to my characters current level {merging levelled lists is a must for these though} Travel at night is especially interesting as there seems to be a whole new series of things to fight with...or run away from....cheers
